Somerset —
Three individuals were injured — and one of those was arrested — following a two-vehicle collision on West Ky. 80 at Lee’s Ford Dock Road Sunday night.
Jose Valenzuela, 57, of Nancy, was driving west on West Ky. 80 shortly before 10 p.m. when he crossed the center line of the roadway and struck an eastbound vehicle operated by 18-year-old Chelsea Wilhoite of Lancaster.
Wilhoite, Valenzuela, and Angel Miguel, 27, a passenger in Valenzuela’s vehicle, were all transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by the Somerset-Pulaski County EMS Department.
An investigation into the crash detemined Valenzuela was drunk when the collision occurred.
After he was seen at the hospital, Valenzuela was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating beverages and four counts of wanton endangerment.
He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
An investigation into the crash is continuing by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff’s units were assisted at the scene by the Nancy Fire Department.
