New Somerset Police Officer

Local News

The Somerset Police Department has a new officer, but he’s no stranger to Pulaski County. Shawn Dobbs was sworn in by Somerset Mayor Eddie Girdler earlier this week. Dobbs was previously employed by the Science Hill Police Department, where he had worked since 2006. He is a 2001 graduate of Pulaski County High School, and he graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Basic Training Class in 2007. Dobbs is a lifelong resident of Pulaski County. He is married, and lives in Science Hill.
