A Pulaski County man was arrested Thursday after authorities responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Cherokee Trail in Somerset.
According to a press release from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Christopher C. Evans, 18, of 214 Cherokee Trail, was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault (domestic) and third-degree assault (police officer).
Deputy Danny Pevley was called to the residence Thursday after a neighbor dispute was reported, and upon arrival it was discovered that one of the neighbors involved in the dispute – identified as Evans – was intoxicated.
Pevley asked Evans to return to his residence while he interviewed the other neighbor, but “during this time screaming was heard coming from the intoxicated man’s (Evans’) residence,” according to the press release.
When he entered the home, Pevley discovered that Evans had reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and was in the act of assaulting his mother.
Pevley intervened and attempted to arrest Evans, but Evans reportedly assaulted him as well.
Evans was subdued by a taser and he was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
