Somerset — Two people pleaded guilty to harboring a vicious animal in Pulaski District Court Thursday in connection with a dog mauling that happened in October which left a woman in serious condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
According to court documents, Tammy Lynn Chambers and Tim Gene Sears, of 355 Garner Road, were ordered to pay $1,000 each in restitution to the victim of the attack undertaken by two of their boxers and $200 in fines plus court costs.
Sears and Chambers were both sentenced to a two-year 60-day probate, and Sears was also ordered to serve 10 days in jail.
The victim, Dorothy Chevalier, of 314 Garner Road, was left with several lacerations to her legs and arms after she was attacked by the two boxers in her yard on Oct. 29, 2007, while she was checking her mail.
The two dogs – a female and a male – were seized by Animal Control. Another dog that was present during the attack was also seized.
Dorothy Chevalier could not be reached for comment.
