Two women were transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after a two-vehicle collision occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Ky. 39 and Oak Leaf Lane.
According to Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood, the accident occurred when Samantha J. Dillingham, 38, of Crab Orchard, swerved into the wrong lane and collided with a vehicle being driven by Laura Pope, 42, of Somerset.
Dillingham was traveling northbound on Ky. 39, and Wood said she failed to stop when the vehicle in front of her 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup waited to turn left onto Oak Leaf Lane.
Dillingham swerved to avoid an impact with the car in front of her and collided with Pope’s southbound 2007 Honda Odyssey van.
Wood said both women’s injuries were relatively minor. Pope reportedly suffered a shoulder injury and Dillingham suffered a leg injury.
Dillingham was in good condition at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Pope was treated in the emergency room and released.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement and Somerset Fire/EMS.
