A man was indicted by a Pulaski County grand jury last week on sexual abuse charges after allegedly having sexual contact with a minor.

Simon Newsome, 65, of Virgie, Ky., was indicted on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse after he allegedly had sexual contact with a young girl under the age of 12.

Chief Deputy Larry Wesley with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the victim was a family member, but he could not provide any further details.

Newsome is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
