Somerset — “We have a message for those who haven’t discovered Lake Cumberland,” says U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers.
“We’re going to find you ... and make you feel particularly welcome.”
Rogers and Gov. Ernie Fletcher visited Somerset yesterday to announce the disbursement of $400,000 toward an outreach campaign to entice tourists, boat owners, and campers to Lake Cumberland next summer.
State officials have been encouraging boosts in tourism promotions since it was announced early this year that Lake Cumberland’s water level was going to be lowered to allow repairs to Wolf Creek Dam.
