A Somerset man escaped serious injury Wednesday morning following a collision on East Ky. 80 near Firetower Road.
Brian S. Whitaker, 23, was traveling west on East Ky. 80 around 8 a.m. when Bryan L. Stewart, 33, of Texas, who was operating a Freightliner tractor-trailer, pulled into his path from Firetower Road.
Stewart was attempting to turn left onto East Ky. 80 at the time of the collision.
Whitaker was treated for his injuries by the Somerset Pulaski County EMS and was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Hospital spokeswoman Susan Ramsey Wilson said Whitaker was seen in the emergency room, but was not admitted.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s units were assisted at the scene of the wreck by Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and the Shopville Volunteer Fire Department.
