Woman extricated after car flips on Ky. 192

By CHRIS HARRIS, CJ Staff Writer

A woman was rescued from her vehicle after it flipped over on Ky. 192 Tuesday night.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Sharon R. Wilkinson, 46, of Providence Road in Somerset, was driving a 1992 Toyota Corolla eastbound on the road about two miles out of Somerset at 7:37 p.m. when the accident happened.

Wilkinson, who suffers from asthma, found herself having difficulty breathing and began to get dizzy, according to the sheriff’s department. She lost control of the vehicle and struck a rock-cut ditch on the right side of the road. The car overturned, and Wilkinson — who was wearing her seatbelt at the time — was trapped inside.

The Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad extricated Wilkinson from her car. She was treated at the scene and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by Somerset-Pulaski County EMS, where she was treated but not admitted.

The White Lily Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
