Somerset Police are investigating bomb threats which were called in to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and the WalMart Superstore Tuesday night.
Detective Shannon Smith said the incidents are under investigation. It isn’t known whether the two threats were connected.
“No connection has been made, but we suspect they might be and are hoping the investigation will reveal that answer soon,” Smith said yesterday.
“We’re in the process of trying to identify the person or persons involved.”
An attempted burglary also occurred on the same evening, leading some to believe the bomb threats may have been meant to serve as a distraction for law enforcement while the burglary took place.
“If that’s the case, that will come out in the investigation,” Smith said.
