The Somerset Fire Department and Science Hill Volunteer Fire Department on Wednesday responded to a report of a fire on this vacant property located about a mile north of Somerset on Clifty Road. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of the fire, as witnesses first reported around 12 p.m. Wednesday that the blaze — which destroyed what appeared to be a small storage building on the property — may have been started intentionally. Those allegations could not be confirmed as of press time, and Lt. Philip Cross with the sheriff’s department said information was still being gathered as of Wednesday afternoon.
