Czars, Tsars or Tzars

by Betty Rees, Bronston, Ky.

Dear Editor:

No matter how you choose to spell the word, it smacks of tyranny, which, according to

my “Funk and Wagnall,” is an arbitrarily cruel exercise of power.

The president has a cabinet approved by Congress. My question is what kind of conflict could there be between the cabinet members and the new czars, who have not been vetted and the president’s ear.

The president made the statement that we would know him by the people who surround him. There are some 34, more or less, czars now in the administration receiving salaries from us. To mention a few that we have gained knowledge of, there is Van Jones, a self-professed communist, who recently resigned after his radical views came to light. Mark Loyd, who wants to make an end run around the now defunct “Fairness Doctrine,” by putting a hefty fine on conservative talk radio stations, if they do not give equal time to those with more leftist views, even as they have their own stations.

John Holdren wants forced abortions and putting sterilization in the water to control the population. Cass Sunstein, who is for animal rights to sue people and wants to stop hunting. Fishing is a form of hunting.

Picture this, you have a fish dangling on your hook, it gives you the evil eye, “drop me back in the water or I will sue you.”

Then there is Acorn, with whom the president was associated. I have to give kudos to the two young courageous journalists, Hanna Giles and James O’Keefe, for exposing Acorn, which resulted in the Census Bureau severing relationship with them, something that Congress could not do so quickly. We need more journalists like them. Finally, it is my hope that Congress will put a stop to giving millions of our tax dollars to Acorn.

Respectfully,

Betty Rees
