Dear Editor:
First of all, let me thank you for allowing me this opportunity to express my thoughts.
The solution to our unemployment problem is not that the federal government takes the taxpayers’ dollars and gives it to companies like R.G. Corman to hire people to get their work done at taxpayers’ expense and they reap the benefits.
It’s my understanding that these are short-lived or temporary jobs and for the life of me I don’t see how this temporary employment will aid unemployment in the long haul.
It would be impossible for the employees to repay the money taxpayers were out through the taxes recovered.
Companies get their work done at taxpayers’ expense or for free.
All one has to do is look at where the products we purchase are made. I challenge all who read this to take a look! I did!
My shoes are made in China. My pants I have on are made in Honduras. My shirt was made in Macau. My automobiles are made in Canada (Mercury) and Japan (Mazda). My coats were made in Mexico and China.
I then started looking for anything that stated it was made in the U.S.A. I was hard pressed to find anything.
It’s very obvious this is the reason for the unemployment in the United States. Too many products are made in other countries and shipped to the American people for purchase.
Our jobs are leaving the United States for foreign countries.
It’s time we started making and buying U.S. products (if you can find any) and the unemployment will disappear.
We will have tax dollars also to balance the state and federal budgets.
If only our president and our government representatives would take a hard look at this situation.
Thank you.
