South Central Fire 02-01-2013 KS.jpg

At the height of commuter rush hour yesterday morning, a section of South Central Avenue was closed to traffic as Somerset firemen fought a blaze at the apartment complex shown in the background. Water runoff from fire hoses, coupled with bitter temperatures, temporarily converted the heavily traveled street into an ice skating rink. The structure was heavily damaged by the fire, and two persons were hospitalized.
