Clell and Gladys Whitaker celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary October 21, 2010.
Gladys is the former Gladys Hargis, daughter of the late Walter and Goldie Hargis. She is a homemaker.
Clell is the son of the late Lum and Alma Whitaker. He is retired from Southern Belle Dairy.
Clell and Gladys were united in marriage October 21, 1950, by the late Rev. Bert Whitaker.
They have been blessed with two sons: Darrell (and Patricia) Whitaker and Jeff (and Nettie) Whitaker; and a daughter, Donna (and Tommy) Turner.
They also have five grandchildren: Chris (and Dorinda) Turner, Daon (and Travis) Creech, Nicole (and Greg) Blevins, Heather (and Gary Coffey) Whitaker, and Jesse Whitaker; six great-grandchildren: Allen Cline, Alex Creech, Blake Turner, Allie Blevins, Tensley Coffey, Dylan Coffey and another great-granddaughter who is expected around October 25, 2010.
Clell and Gladys faithfully attend Flat Lick Baptist Church.

Leonard states: “It was strange that it took so long for people to get together in those times. We lived just 6 miles apart but never knew each other for several years. I met Elva on a Sunday night at Fellowship Methodist Church where we still belong and attend when we are able.” -
