Kermit and Virginia Goins were married May 15, 1959.

They are the parents of Chandra Honaker, Somerset, and Dr. Cassandra Simms, Chattanooga, Tenn.

They are the grandparents of three and the great-grandparents of three.

In their honor, a dinner was held at Ruth’s Chris Restaurant in Louisville on May 16, 2009.
