Thomas Hargis and Mary (Smith) Hargis were married Nov. 1, 1959, in Brazil, Indiana.

They are blessed with four chil-dren: Kathe (and Paul) Godby, Tommy (and Gert) Hargis, Karen (and Kerry Dale) Bishop, all of Science Hill, Ky., and Karrie (and Randy) Ridner of Eubank, Ky.

They also have eight grand-children: David (and Cindy) Bar-ron, Kimberly Wilson, T.R. Bis-hop, Ryan Hargis, Ashley Hargis, Tyler Ridner, Brandi Ridner and Caleb Ridner.

They have eight great-grand-children: Jaydien, Ashton and Kaitlyn Barron, Emily, Noah and Nicholas Wilson, Riley Hargis and Alexis Bishop.

The children would like to invite all family and friends to join them in this surprise cele-bration of 50 years together.

The celebration will take place at the home of Joann and Thomas Witt at 4870 Leslie Bray Lane, off East Ky. 452, on Sun-day, November 1, 2009, at 2 p.m.

Leonard Wilson Sears was born on February 1, 1915.
Elva Bales Sears came along on May 4, 1918.
Leonard states: “It was strange that it took so long for people to get together in those times. We lived just 6 miles apart but never knew each other for several years. I met Elva on a Sunday night at Fellowship Methodist Church where we still belong and attend when we are able.”
