James and Mary Ellen Lloyd celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 12, 2011, with an open house from 2 until 4 p.m. at their home, 432 Garner Road in Somerset.
A host of family and friends attended the celebration.
Jim and Lois Lloyd, Bruce and Lauren Lloyd, Kevin and Kelly Lloyd and Robin Brown hosted the event.
James is the son of the late William and Maggie Lloyd of Burnside, Ky.
Mary is the daughter of the late Fred and Anna Barnes of Burnside, Ky.
James and Mary were married July 5 in Jamestown, Ky.
They are the parents of Jim, Janice and Gail Lloyd.
They also have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Leonard states: “It was strange that it took so long for people to get together in those times. We lived just 6 miles apart but never knew each other for several years. I met Elva on a Sunday night at Fellowship Methodist Church where we still belong and attend when we are able.” -
